Shay held her tightly to the strap of her bag that hung loosely on her shoulder. She couldn't believe she was standing here. In the drama department of Fate Academy. She wanted to jump around and scream, but she didn't she kept a straight face as she looked around the theater. She was surprised her parents had let her come. Maybe she could actually straighten up her life this time, instead of sending it downward. She walked through the rows of theater seats toward the stage. She walked up the steps and stood on the wood floor. Her eyes were practically glowing with her excitement. She could just picture herself on this stage doing a monologue or a soliloquy. She loved being on stage, when all eyes were on her.
Shay stood on the stage daydreaming. She could see her name in lights. She could see herself performing Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet or performing her favorite monologue. The Casket Comedy by William Heinemann. She spun around in a slow circle, studying everything, from where the lights were to the black velvet curtains, to the few props that were resting against the stage wall. She had stars in her eyes already and she hoped maybe one day all this would be reality, and she would be standing on a real stage.

Jared couldn't control the smile on his face as he walked into the drama department of Fates Academy. This hall was him home away from home, the stage--heaven. How could he ever keep away from such a fantastic place? School had barely started and he couldn't keep away even for just a little while. The summer had been brutal, only students in the summer school program were allowed to stay.
'Damn failing people... hogging all the amazingness. So selfish.'
Walking into the theater he felt his sense of nostalgia ruined. There was another girl in here. It didn't bother him none, not really. Though he would have wished he was here alone for the moment, it was perfectly fine. It seemed that she was a new student. He hadn't seen her last year. That or someone felt the need for a makeover. He watched curiously as she spun around, taking in the site of the theater. It was something to be marveled at, or so he felt so. She didn't notice him standing at one of the entrances and he felt the urge to make his presence known. He walked slowly behind the black haired girl. She seemed pretty young as she wasn't that tall, but then again, Jared was a pretty tall guy.
"Well, I didn't expect to see anyone here so early." He said suddenly. He realized that he might have scared the girl, but it was too late now. "To be honest I kinda hoped no one was here, but it's nice to see a student with passion." He smirked at the girl.

Shay spun a around quickly when a voice filled the hall. Her breath caught in her throat as she looked over the black haired boy that stood in front of her. She smiled at his statement. "Yes, I came out here this early just to ruin your day." She told him with a playful laugh. She pulled up her courage and walked down the steps and back towards him. "It is... nice to see students with passion, that is when you can find them." She told him as she came up upon him. Her green eyes shone in the stage lights as she stood there.
Shay stuck her hand out with a half smile. "My name is Shay." She stated simply. She liked it here already. She really loved it here. She could already tell that this hall was going to be her favorite.

"Yes, I came out here this early just to ruin your day." She replied jokeingly.
"Aha! You malicious creature! Thou shall pay greatly for thou's devilish deeds." He raised his voice, playfully instead of anger.
"It is nice to see students with passion, that is when you can find them." She quoted him partially as she walked off the stage to him. He nodded his head. He figured it was so. She offered her hand and gave her name. Jared reached out and grabbed her hand firmly, but was still careful. He didn't want to break her hand.
"I'm Jared. Some people call me Stryder though." He offered. Maybe she'd want to call him that? He knew he'd wouldn't want to be left out of the loop. "Call me either." He grinned at her, perfect teeth showing between his lips.

Shay gave a pitful pout looking over at him as he said she would pay. "Oh please, oh great one. I'm just a lonely peasent who doesn't deserve to be punished, I promise I won't do it again." She told him blinking innocently.
Shay straightened up and listened to him state his name. He had a soft grasp on her hand. She let his hand go and she tested his name on her lips. "Jared... Stryder... Jared... Stryder... Hmm... i'm not sure which I like better." She told him contemplating. She smiled at him as she thought though.
Innocent pouts get you nowhere

He snorted when she couldn't decide on a name. Personally, he liked his name and really didn't care much which one people called him. His mother, despite her lack on interest in him, named him well. "Well, Stryder's my last name." He told her. "If you feel weird about it you can call me Jared. Or something entirely different all together. I don't care much what people call me as long as it's not an insult." Once someone had referred to him as 'Hey kid, move.' Seemingly taken directly from Boy Meets World, Jared always seemed to be in the older student's way. It got annoying after a while, but what could he do?
"So, are you a new student?" He asked her. He was still very curious to find out. There were some people that just stuck out in a crowd, but Jared tended to miss them and always noticed them weeks after their arrival. When he noticed he usually asked mostly everyone he knew if the student had been their long. And usually, to his embarrassment, the student had.

Shay smiled at him, "Well Jared Stryder, person... I have not decided what i'm going to call you so it will probably be different all the time. I'm very random at times. It's something you get used to." She told tilting her head to the side for a moment. She was still running on a small high from this mornings escapades, but it wasn't so bad that anyone would notice.
"Yes, this is my first day, aren't you glad you met me? You're the first person i've met, not including those bitchy receptionists in the office." She told him with a laugh and a shake of her head.

Jared shrugged. Random or not, he didn't see it as a problem. Jared thought of himself as one of a kind. Not having many friends growing up had that effect on you. "It's not a problem. I welcome it. The world needs people who aren't afraid of being different!" He hated how people seemed to look up to celebrities and saw what they should be. Perfect, flawless, and loved unconditionally for their looks. That was a major downside to the acting world. If there was anyway that he could change their perspective, he would, but alas! It was out of his control.
"Haha. I was new last year too. I had to beg my dad for about three months before he finally agreed. He can be really stubborn and that stubborn side only shows when I want something. Heh." He smirked a bit. His father was the person who pointed that fact out.

Shay nodded and made her way to the second row of theater seats and walked all the way down to the middle. She sat down and propped her feet up on the seat in front of her. She patted the seat beside her motioning for him to come sit. "I'm not afraid of being different, as you'll soon come to notice, Mr.myfirstnewfriend." She told him with a smirk.
"My parents weren't going to let me come either, but they finally agreed, much to my great satisfaction." She stated staring off into space for a moment before turning back to the boy. "Well don't just stand there, come sit, relish in the quiet of the atmosphere while you can." She smirked as she looked over at him.

He chuckled at her responce. Mr. FirstNewFriend? he repeated to himself. He moved down the isle to where she sat. He was never too fond of sitting in the seating area. Why would he? He was an actor, he was suppose to be on the stage! ... As well as in that Twilight movie. Screw Robert Pattinson, Jared felt he was more perfect for the role. Sadly, he was never able to audition as he found out too little, too late. Woe is Jared.
"I'm coming, woman!" He laughed when she urged him. "Besides, why sit here when the stage is far more appealing?" He chuckled.

Shay raised an eyebrow at him as he snapped at her. "Now I know you didn't just snap at me Mr. Jared Stryder?" She asked him tilting her head to the side a bit. She was just kidding but it was always fun to see their reactions. "The Stage may be more appealing but do you see any chairs up there?" She asked matter-of-factly, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. She looked over at him and started laughing before finally calming herself back into a normal position. [/size]

"Now I know you didn't just snap at Mr. Jared Stryder?" She asked Jared. He raised a brow at her. ... She is joking... right? If there was something about Jared that his friends laughed at him for, it was the simple fact that he wasn't able to tell the difference between someone being serious or sarcastic. Joking around fit in that area as well.
"Uhm... No?" He said unsure. "And it doesn't matter that there aren't chairs. We'll be crazy and sit on the floor, but okay." He sat down next to her. "So are you from here?" He asked. Jared, himself, was born in New York. He was also the type of New Yorker that didn't call it the Big Apple. No real New Yorker ever really called it that. Or in his opinion they didn't... Shouldn't.

Shay smirked at his confused expression. "I'm kidding..." She told him with a smile. She listened to him talk about how they could always sit on the floor. She just laughed. "No i'm not from around here. I'm from Cali. You?" She asked staring up at the stage, even from here she could picture herself in one of the flapper girl dresses performing Thouroughly Modern Millie or just completely acting random because the part told her too. She smiled, she was already ready to be a star.
Drama fact numero tres;; Good Line Callers will call your actual lines in practice, but great line callers will call out random things, making everyone laugh.
